Offbeat India's Waterfall Rappelling session @ Mahuli on Sunday, 7th Oct, 2012



Hi Folks,

This time we are back with more meaner, challenging and thrilling Waterfall Rappelling Session at Mahuli (regarded among the best around Mumbai). Go get ready for this mammoth waterfall venue.

It is almost double the length of Bhivpuri waterfalls, where we had been to during our last session.

OFFBEAT has organized a waterfall rappelling session near Mahuli, Asangaon on Sunday, 7th Oct, 2012.

Rappelling is a means of descending steep vertical faces with the assistance of a rope and specialized equipment. It is a quick and exciting experience. When you combine it with the magic of the Sahyadri in the monsoon, you get to do that exciting descent through a waterfall. You won’t believe how much fun it is, till you experience it.
Destination: Mahuli.
Height: Approx 150 ft (twice the height of Bhivpuri waterfalls)
Grade: Thrilling
Cost: Rs. 850/- (Travelling by train & local transport, Equipment & Expertise charges, breakfast, evening snacks and 2 tea breaks).

Meeting Time: 06.15 am
Meeting Point: CST booking centre, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane and likewise major fast train halts ahead.

Things to carry: 2 litres of water (compulsory), comfortable & firm grip shoes, personal medication, bag, cap or any other head gear, extra pair of clothes and munchies.

Things to avoid: Valuables, excess cash, gold, etc.

Trek to Tungareshwar (Waterfalls & Streams) on Sunday, 9th September, 2012




Offbeat India has organized a one-day Trek to Tungareshwar near Vasai on Sunday, 9th September, 2012.

Tungareshwar is about 2170 feet (664 m), one of the highest mountain plateaus in Vasai. It is thickly wooded and offers many opportunities to trekkers, mountaineers and nature lovers. The best time to visit Tungareshwar is during the rains and winter season.


Difficulty level: Easy yet tricky 

Cost: Rs. 750/- per head

Inclusions: Transport by private bus, entry fees, expertise charges, breakfast, chai-biskoot and lunch.

Things to carry: 2ltrs water bottle, comfortable firm grip shoes/floaters, munchies, cap/hat, personal medication (if any) and extra pair of clothes.

Things to Avoid: Cash, Gold, Valuables, etc.
